Following on from establishing a class Essential Agreement I invited students to provide me with feedback on how they felt I was going as their new teacher. Some key questions were provided as reflective prompts. This feedback was then used to model the writing of a ‘learning goal’ for myself. Students then wrote their own visible ‘SMART’ goals connecting to the Essential Agreement and how they aim to be ‘Better than Before’. Many of these skill areas for development have been added into the Class Dojo to be able to provide in the moment positive and specific feedback in connection to student’s individual goals.
