LDT Positivity Portfolios

The idea for this came from a Professional Development day led by Kristy Elliott ‘ Positive Education & Restorative Practice – A symbiotic approach to wellbeing in schools’.

This year we began working with LDT students in Years 3 and 4  on developing individual Personal Positivity Portfolios. The plan is for students to continue adding to these as they progress through the school years with the LDT Teacher/EA.

This year our focus has been on:

  • An initial student interview to get to know the child
  • Love Languages (which we use to connect & build relationships with students)
  • Student Voice IEP targets connecting with their Signature Strengths (and strengths to ‘dial up’ or ‘dial down’)
  • Goal Step plans to support the success and long-term perseverance required to achieve personal targets
  • Focus activities on different Character Strengths (e.g. understanding of kindness, perspective taking, etc.).
