I’ve been asking my Y12 class to place a magnet on the continuum shown. It’s been a great way to check in with how they are feeling. The magnet is anonymous, but I watch the students place the magnet and follow up with those below 0 quietly during the lesson. I’m finding that students are struggling because basic needs aren’t met (food, sleep, stress). Next steps are to do more work with students who are reporting stress as a problem.
